Drafting Project, Western Springs, Illinois
HABS/HAER/HALS Drafting of historic structures in Illinois. Ink drawings submitted to Department of the Interior for inclusion into the HABS/HAER collection in the Library of Congress. Researching the structure's history was conducted to accurately propose potential restoration/replacement of significant missing elements.

Restoration of a 1890’s storefront in Bridgeport, IL
Students were asked to accurately depict the original storefront of a selected structure was during its period of significance for a proposed rehabilitation.Proposal was done using photoshop and illustrator. Colours, proposed design features and  storefront name came from archival research, NPS briefs, class lectures, interviews etc. 
The Above article was extracted from The Chicago Tribune Archive to find the store that was present during the 1920's. The store was called Jakubatitus, After the man who owned or rented it.
Rehabilitation of the downtown centre of Blue Island, IL
Historic Neoclassical bank and town landmark located at 13057 S Western Ave., Blue Island.  Proposal for a  Vertical Infill Design for 19,440 sq. feet of rooftop. A set-back modern glass addition that does not disrupt the original fabric of historic bank. Hotel & Condo units with large terrace and green roof.
Historic Structures Report
for “Defender Building”, Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL
Two pages of from a class-wide Historic Structure Report which included a breakdown of the history, research methods, current condition, damages, causes of damages, recommendations for restoration, and floor plan appendixes for example.
GAR Soldiers memorial Hall, Aurora, IL
Students worked together to complete a Historic Finishes Report. The project called for taking paint samples from site, educating ourselves/ researching the historic context of the site, paint analysis, redrawing Victorian wall designs etc.
